My husband and I were fortunate to take a trip to California and the Pacific Coast. The raw strength of the ocean is unbelievable! I’ll be sharing some of our memories with you here in this area of my website over the next several posts.
The appeal of a day searching for beach glass clouded our good judgment! So, we bundled up (36*) and toughed it out…….The large handful of items we found included a lovely lavender piece, several crinoids and a small piece of blue & white china.
I have the good fortune to share with you that my unique magnetic wine charms are featured in the “Products We Love” section (see the right-hand page of above photo) of “Glassing: The Sea and Beach Glass Magazine”, March/April, 2018 edition! It’s a great honor to be included with several other beach-related ideas.
February, and 63 degrees today! What an opportunity for a walk on the beach. As you can see in the photo, there was a deep layer of snow topping much of the sand. Some areas were carved out like caves. I found many very small, well-tossed pieces in some fun colors: lime green, aqua, and even a few cobalt blue pieces!
Calming the mind and pampering the body are what is in store for those who come. “Spa Day in the Park” will have sample services and/or products to share and sell. A variety of booths will greet you with services such as aromatherapy, make-up experts, chair massages, natural beauty care products, and jewelry to name a few. The first 50 will receive a goodie bag full of lots of great stuff. The only thing missing is you! No pre-registration is…
Had a great surprise when my husband scheduled a “Mystery Trip” for my birthday ~ we ended up in Las Vegas! The closest we ever got to being near water was at the “Cirque du Soleil: Beatles Love” show. The photo depicts the song “Under the Sea”. It was fantastic! Love you honey : )
This is always the hardest time of the year for me! Can’t get to the beach to hunt ~ only get to dream about the day when I can get back out there. In the mean time, we have been having some outstanding sunsets!
Merry Christmas from the cold North! It’s almost sure that we’ll have a white Christmas. Thank you for your support over 2017. Many possibilities loom on the horizon for some wonderful beach trips in the coming year. I’ll share my progress along the way. May you spend the Holidays with those you love and hold dear!
My husband and I were lucky enough to enjoy a walk on the beach on Thanksgiving afternoon. It was a beautiful, sunny day and about 45 degrees. The water was so still. Sadly, he found this poor fish dried onto several small rocks….we were too late to be of any assistance to the fish. On a positive note, overall, it was a good huntin’ day for beach glass.
This is a sample of the great pieces of pottery and china that I have found washed up onto the shore of Lake Michigan. There’s such a variety of color and texture: some are rough and worn, while others are perfectly smoothed by the waves, rocks and sand.
